Last action hero: Actor Peta Wilson trained rigorously for an upcoming action roleScott Sonnon holds the honor of being the first American ever to train in post-Soviet Russia in the martial-arts discipline of Sambo, going on to become the USA National Sambo Team coach. A remarkable athlete and successful coach, Sonnon has worked with members of the National Football League, National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, Secret Service and military.

Known as the “Flow Coach,” Sonnon created Circular Strength Training (CST) in 1999, which combines joint mobility movies, strength training and flow yoga. Today, there are more than 200 CST instructors across the country. Equinox recently picked up his class for its clubs in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City, and the waiting lists to attend grow longer daily. A client of Sonnon's introduced him to the former La Femme Nikita television star Peta Wilson, 38, and the two have been actively training for the last six months, readying Wilson for her next, intensely physical role in the film 124 Degrees. “Scott is my secret weapon,” Wilson says. “I feel like I'm almost flying in another dimension after our workouts.”

“Armed and very dangerous” Print

(“Shape” magazine, april 1999)

Fitness

Have you ever been sweating from heat in a blouse with long sleeves on a hot day, just because you were too shy to put something more open on, then you know when one wants to have well-toned arms. And you are not the only one wishing that. Movie industry can be blamed for that to some extent: seems like each and single new movie star looks even better than the previous one. Beautiful arms are not only a pass to the magical world of open dresses, but an evidence of how well you can look after yourself.

Peta Wilson: Nikita is Quite a Hit, Lady Print
David Martindale, Zap2It (20 August 1999)

“I don't have any expectations. And if you don't have any expectations, you don't have any disappointments”.

That's Peta Wilson's philosophy on life, but it also fits neatly in context with “La Femme Nikita” the third-year series based on the 1990 French film of the same name. The actress plays Nikita, a young woman who, once wrongly accused of murder, has become a hit woman for a covert anti-terrorist agency.

Peta Wilson Interview for USA Network Print
(December 2000)

Let's see, how much did you know about this incredible groundswell of fan support that's been going on to help bring back your show?

I was informed of the… what was going on. I was told about the, um, you know, I was informed by Warner Brothers… because, um, you know, I was in Australia when all of it was going on. Sort of getting on with things really, you know? And they called me and said, “Did you know that this is going on and there's, you know, X amount of, uh, hits on the Internet” and so I was informed and then I was sent a whole lot of e-mails, you know, and then, um, that's when I realized that they were not letting it go. I don't know why that is with the show. I don't know, you know. But I think it's great, I think it's great. I think they're gonna be happy with the ending that's coming, you know? Or the way that it all ends, I think they're gonna be pleased. You know, I, um, I'm, I don't know if they're ever gonna wanna let it go but, the way it ends is — and you never know, we could come back, you just don't know, you know?

(Russian magazine "Panorama TV" #39(270), September 28 - October 4, 1998)

Australian top-model and actress Peta Wilson became famous almost the next day after the first episode of tv-series “La Femme Nikita” on American TV. And that is not surprising. The tv-series, based on the famous film of Luc Besson, is as good as the original. Experts know one more version of “Nikita” — American “Point of No Return” which was filmed by John Badham with Bridget Fonda in the main part.

Among movie spies Nikita (Peta Wilson) looks better and more stylish than anyone else. She prefers modern (sometimes even to much modern) style. And unlike many of her movie colleagues she is not afraid to experiment. Let's face the truth: the result of these experiments looks interesting and delights the eye.

Peta Wilson: Women play the main part in our family Print

(Russian magazine “MK Bulvar”, 1999)

— Have you ever acted like Nikita in real life?

— Well, I'm a sportswoman. I played basketball and swam a lot. And I could even take part in the Olympics… Actually I'm from the family of swimmers — when war was over, my grandfather worked as a coach and manager of a swimming-pool, that's why I had to swim a lot. I didn't want that at all, but my grandpa gave me 10 cents for 10 rounds. As I made friends, got close to someone, we had to move back, and I had to start it all over again. When I was 12, I wanted so much to become a member of girls' gang, but when I was told to steal candies from a supermarket, I got all wet, when somebody patted me on the shoulder in the store. “That was me!” — I cried then, and it turned out that some woman just wanted to know what time it was. So I'm not like Nikita at all. She has to act like that to save her own life…
